Removing the Blockage

As people, I feel like we are all to some varying degree, blocked up. At first, you might read that and think ‘no way is this girl starting her first blog post talking about bowel movements’. And while yes, I kind of am, I’m also so talking about other kinds of blockages too. I’m talking in the literal sense of congestion, acne, digestive tract issues, and so on, but also in the figurative sense of emotion, experience, and energy blockages. Does something else immediately come to mind for you? Hold on to that! (you’ll see hehehe)

For me, The Mind Body Sport Podcast is the result of clearing the blockages that I had in myself. And trust me, there were a lot… (now you’re thinking no wayyy is this girl CONTINUING her first blog post talking about bowel movements!!!... yes. carry on). But seriously, I once blocked my breathing by shoving a bead up my nose when I was a kid. Like we’re talking a lot of blockates. 

Physically, my lungs have felt blocked due to pneumonia and bronchitis a handful of times, my digestive tract has been blocked up and commonly referred to as “the famous belly”, my ears have been blocked from icky & random infections. I have had blocks in experiences, whether that meant holding myself back or getting held back by external forces. I’ve had energy blockages that made it SO hard to develop my own yoga practice ON my mat, not just in my everyday life. I’ve had emotional and memory blockages due to the powers of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder that I feel are only now coming back to me. How? I cleansed out those blockages. Someone start a count for how many times I say blockage in this whole thing. 

Anyways, the point is – we are blocked up people and we need to do something about it!!! The point was also to trauma dump a little because 1. that can be my proof that what I’m going to share with you actually works and 2. I had to acknowledge that I keep my Mom on her dang TOES!!! #sorrymom

What I have chosen to do about it is create The Mind Body Sport Podcast. Here, you will find audio guided meditations read to you by me. These meditations are created in my mind and have all helped me get to where I am today. They are meditations that have helped my yoga students flow with me on their mats and my athletes to get to the next level of their goals. These are meditations that I have experienced in my EMDR- and IFS-related therapy sessions. A whole culmination of the different ways I have chosen to go through and even gritted my teeth through to remove the blockages in myself.

My wish for you when you listen to my meditations is to take some intentional time for yourself and to apply a genuine, curious effort. You’ll see more coming soon for HOW to meditate (can’t give it all away at once or else I’d write a book… and girl ME?! Sitting long enough to write a book? please.) but for now, just meet yourself where you are, and lend me your trust for a few moments. I promise it’s worth it! 

P.S. – this meditation is dedicated to my dear Mama. I gotchu girl just like you ALWAYS get me.
